About Us

The Fairfield Arts Center (FAC) is a municipal charter of the Town of Fairfield and was founded in 1996 through a collaborative effort by the First Selectman’s Office and a grass roots movement led by a progressive minded group of individuals dedicated to promoting the arts and artists of the community.
For fourteen years, FAC has sought to integrate the creative process into the daily lives of Fairfield’s residents by providing access to the arts through opportunity, education and outreach to the underserved. In keeping with its mission and commitment to the democratization of art, FAC offers programming that is inclusive rather than exclusive and seeks to build cultural partnerships with Fairfield’s arts organizations that offer not only visual experiences but performing and literary as well.
With its proximity to Metro North and the I-95, the Fairfield Arts Center is conveniently located in heart of Fairfield’s art district at 70 Sanford Street making it a cultural gateway for the town and the thousands of people FAC welcomes into its gallery annually. FAC is funded in part by the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Fairfield County Community Foundation.
